Dr. Woodson, Thank you for two very pleasant hip replacement operations. The freedom that comes from being able to walk, hike, and do aerobics is incredible. I also never thought I would be able to sit cross-legged in this life again, either! Your work is so much appreciated. With grateful thanks.
BOSI Orthopedic Specialists
The Beginning
In 2017 Dr. Christopher Woodson and Dr. Raymond Klug founded Beach Orthopaedic Specialty Institute (BOSI), the premier orthopedic provider to Orange County, Greater Long Beach, and the South Bay of Los Angeles, CA. In 2021, Beach Orthopaedics welcomed Dr. Johannes Bernbeck who has over 30 years experience in surgery of the spine. The vision of the practice is to provide the highest quality evidence-based orthopedic care in the area within a personalized and efficient office setting.
Top-Notch Treatment
BOSI’s orthopedic surgeons are all fellowship trained. In addition, they are all passionate about clinical outcomes, exploring the newest innovations in orthopedic surgery, clinical research, and explaining treatment options to patients in a systematic fashion. Non-operative modalities are the mainstay of treatment for most patients. When these treatments fail, surgery is carefully considered and personalized for each patient.
State-of-the-art Office
Our office facility is state-of-the-art with in-house x-ray, ultrasound, biologics, bracing, casting, and all facets of orthopedic care. Patient rooms have been thoughtfully designed with large wireless imaging screens to allow for careful review of radiographs or MRIs with patients and families. Beach Orthopaedic Specialty Institute is conveniently located adjacent to the Los Alamitos Medical Center.
A Personal Approach
The goal of Beach Orthopedic’s surgeons is to help patients make the best informed decisions regarding their treatment. The staff at BOSI is exceptional and hand-picked for their years of experience, compassionate personalities, and outstanding work ethic. Our friendly office staff is like a family and takes pride in guiding patients every step along the way from the initial check-in process all the way through your recovery.

Testimonials
I am wanting to give my accolades to Denise, your five star receptionist at the front desk. Denise greets you with a warm smile. She is polite, kind and efficient. If I were her employer, I would want me staff to have her type of “people qualities”. Denise is an absolute complimentary asset to your office.
Dear Dr. Woodson, Thank you once again for such excellent work repairing my shoulder. It’s recovering so well! So glad I found you!
Dr. Woodson, Thank you for making me even!
Dr. Woodson and staff, We love you guys. God Bless your soul!! For all you do for the world.
Dear Dr. Woodson, We cannot thank you enough for taking such great care of our son. We appreciate you more than you know. From getting him in for an appointment right away to putting his collar bone back together (again… thank you for scheduling his surgery so quickly), we cannot be more grateful. You are truly wonderful. All our thanks.
Dr. Klug, Maybe it’s all in a day’s work for you, but it was an exceptional day for me under your skilled surgical care at Los Alamitos Same Day Surgery on Tues, November 21.
Thanks for squeezing me into the full Thanksgiving week surgery schedule for ORIF on my left radius AND for moving me up from 5:30 pm to 1:30pm! I appreciate your expertise and professional skills – and as Dr. Obarr enthusiastically stated in the OR as I moved to the operating table, “This is where the MAGIC happens!”
I would add that it’s where MIRACLES happen – as trained and gifted professionals like yourself align broken body parts so God can grow them back together again. Thanks for teaming up with the Great Physician to bring restoration to my wrist – still recuperating but wholeness on the way!
Grateful to God and to you.
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Your allowing me to continue another (at home therapy) for a second session meant so much for me. Milton’s Alzheimer’s is a struggle to monitor.
Thank you phrase is simple and the words are few, but behind them are a whole lot of appreciation.
I am writing this review for my 85-year-old mother. I am a recently retired chiropractor with 35 years of practice experience. I feel this lifetime of experience has given me a little extra insight when reviewing a physician, particularly when regarding the spine. My mother had lower back, buttock and leg pain which left her unable to walk without bending forward. She could only walk if she was bent forward, using a walker or hanging onto a shopping cart for support. She was unable to stand up straight without experiencing sharp, shooting pain in her buttock and leg. This is called a “Shopping Cart Sign”, which indicates severe spinal stenosis. As you can imagine, I had lots of questions for Dr. Bernbeck. Many of them more technical than the average person would be able to ask. Usually, I would get a second opinion. However, I was so satisfied with Dr. Bernbeck’s demeanor, and his honest, straightforward answers to my questions, that we decided to go forward with the procedure without a second opinion. We could not be more happy with the decision. Following the procedure, Dr. Bernbeck responded quickly to adjust pain medication to keep my mother comfortable. There was usually a return call within two hours. It is now four weeks after surgery. My mother walked a mile yesterday with no pain. There is still some off and on soreness, which Dr. Bernbeck told us we should expect for a few more months. Overall, this was an excellent experience, and I would highly recommend Dr. Bernbeck to any of my friends or colleagues. My review – 10 out of 10.
Dr. Woodson, Just wanted to say thank you for all my great surgeries and care.
