I saw Dr. Bernbeck as a second opinion and I am so glad I decided to do that. He is a very good surgeon and a thorough practitioner. He covered every possible scenario before it happened so I would be prepared if it did. He was extremely professional and his staff are excellent. Marlena the surgery scheduler was a godsend and the receptionist and back office staff are really the highlight of the practice. Great doctors attract the best staff. He was not only knowledgeable but also took the time to address all of my questions and concerns, while always being available via calls or texts. I am not nervous or anxious about going into an operating room-but I’ve always left it up to the surgeon as to whether he wants me “out” when I’m wheeled in or if I can be awake and help move myself from the gurney to the table. After all, it’s their show. This was the first time I was fully awake and was on the gurney when Dr. Bernbeck stood over me, introduced me to the surgical team and went over the procedure, what he expected and what he wanted ready to go for the operation. For me, it was so very interesting-and appreciated. I can imagine that it doesn’t work for everyone and there are time constraints, anxiety levels, etc. that can change from patient- to- patient, but for me, it was the very best experience. Add to that his talent and you have another star.
